The JSA Executive Board
The current 2013-2014 Executive Board members consist of 10 active members. We hold elections for most positions in April, and a select few in September for incoming freshman who are interest in joining.
George Iwaoka
Co-Founder, President
George is currently a sophomore double majoring in Biochemistry and Financial Economics on a Pre-med track. He plays the piano and loves to sing, which he mostly gets done in the shower. He enjoys running, playing tennis and squash. He also loves to cook and eat during his spare time (maybe more eating than cooking).

Yuta Oryu
Programming Chair
Yuta is a sophomore and an electrical engineering major and serve as the programming chair for JSA. Yuta has been attending the New Jersey Japanese Weekend School from first grade up until junior year. During the last two years there, I have taken part in organizing events such as the Field Days and the annual Spring Festivals.

Yukako is a freshman from St. Louis, Missouri. She is still undecided about what major she wants to study in college. Her friend's mother used to call her the garbage disposal because shes would always eat mass amounts of food...

Mana Takeyama
Vice President
Mana is a sophomore majoring in Biology with a minor in Psychology. She loves dancing during her free time, and is part of BPG (Ballet Performance Group). Mana is very excited to be able to share Japan’s culture to the community of Rochester, and she can’t wait for another great year!

Steph is a Freshman majoring in Japanese and Spanish. She is from New Jersey, plays on the Varsity Women's Basketball team at the U of R, and likes to read in her spare time. She loves learning about and experiencing Japanese culture through JSA.

Jessica Yao
Japanese Department Liaison
Jessica a senior majoring in biochemistry. In addition to being in JSA, Jessica is also a part of Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority. One fun fact about Jessica is that she has been bitten by a stingray before.

Koji Muto
Co-Founder, Business Manager
Koji Muto is a Junior pursuing a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business. He was born in Niigata, Japan but moved to the United States when he was very young. Aside from performing his JSA presidential duties, Koji loves to play Frisbee, play tennis, watch movies, play board games, and meet new people!

Yunshan Yang
Publicity Chair
Yang is a sophomore double majoring in finacial economics and studio art. Yang used to an Otaku, and used to sit in front of the computer and watch anime for all day long. Back then, Yang was 20 pounds heavier than he is now!
